1. Overview

NeigborDrop is a community-powered platform that enables neighbors to help each other with everyday tasks such as errands, store runs, or rides. It is not a gig platform and does not employ or contract helpers. All participation is voluntary.

2. User Eligibility

  • At least 18 years old.
  • Resident of Canada with a valid phone number.
  • Able to legally transact using a valid payment method (for requesters).

3. Platform Role

NeigborDrop acts only as a technology platform to facilitate matching between users (requesters and helpers). We do not supervise, validate, or employ users.

4. Helper Role and Waiver

Helpers are volunteers or neighbors helping neighbors. They are not employees, agents, or representatives of NeigborDrop.

  • You act on your own behalf and will receive reimbursement plus any optional reward.
  • You are responsible for your own safety and conduct while offering help.
  • You waive any claim against NeigborDrop for issues arising from your participation.

5. Requesters

  • Pre-authorize payment for the estimated cost plus platform fees.
  • Pay the final amount after task completion.
  • Respond promptly to communications and rate your helper.

6. Payments

Payments are processed securely via Stripe. Helper payouts may be made via Stripe Connect or Wise, depending on location.

  • Platform fee sustains operations.
  • Taxes (e.g., HST) apply to platform fees.
  • Helpers receive 100% of the reward amount.
  • Receipts must be uploaded for reimbursement.

7. Platform Fees

Each task displays the following cost components as values (not percentages):

  • Actual product or item cost.
  • Helper reward (flat or estimated).
  • Platform service fee.
  • Applicable taxes (e.g., HST).

8. Acceptable Use

Use NeigborDrop only for lawful, neighborly purposes. Do not misuse, spam, exploit, or impersonate others, and respect all local laws while using the platform.

9. Prohibited Activities

  • No illegal, fraudulent, or unsafe activities.
  • No harassment, abuse, hate speech, or discriminatory behaviour.
  • No commercial solicitation or advertising.
  • No use of bots or scraping tools.

10. Third-Party Services

NeigborDrop may link to third-party services (e.g., Stripe, Wise). We do not control or assume responsibility for any third-party content, functionality, or data handling practices.

11. Dispute Resolution

  • Submit disputes within 7 days of task completion.
  • We may investigate chats, receipts, and platform usage.
  • We may issue refunds or credits at our discretion.

12. Liability Disclaimer

NeigborDrop is not liable for injury, loss, or errors during tasks. Use the platform at your own risk.

13. Data & Privacy

We collect minimal user data (e.g., name, phone, location) to operate the platform. We do not sell user data. Review our Privacy Policy for more information.

14. Termination

  • We may suspend accounts for fraud, abuse, or low ratings.
  • Repeat violations may result in removal from the platform.
